Joining in for the “Yarn Along” over at small things:

This past week has been crazy busy, so both the knitting and reading have taken a bit of a back seat.  I feel one should always look at what has been done, even if it is small, so here goes:

I’ve mostly been reading to the Lil One, and I have to say, some of the books we find elicit a bit of a “squeee!” from me as well as her.  Diary of a Wombat, by Jackie French and illustrated by Bruce Whatley, was my favorite find this past trip. Tell me, is this not the cutest little cuddly animal you’ve ever seen!  😀

The text is a funny little “diary” of a furry, cute little wombat who “trains” a family to feed him loads of crunchy carrots and gets into a little mischief along the way.  I think I’d like to take a day off wombat style (don’t you just love the word, wombat) and do nothing but eat, sleep and occasionally roll around and relax.

I’ve been knitting at a slow pace, but am finally reaching the bottom edge of the bottom of the “Sorella Robina V2” I’m working on.  The temptation to leap-frog along came in the mail this past week – Sundara Yarn Aran Merino in the rich warm shade of Arabian Nights.  Of course, I think I’ll re-name it Wombat Brown 😉 .  I can’t wait to start working with it!  I will try to remain faithful to my stash busting plan, however, and for now I’ll just visit the pile of yummy brown and purple tinted yarn, and dream of my “Harmonia’s Rings Tunic” that will grace my fall wardrobe.

So, back to the knitting.  Gotta get that ribbing done!
